Goethe-Zertifikat A1 (Start German 1) Exam Schedule

Locations
The Exam Schedule lists the locations where DEP conducts operator qualification tests. Exam pages for each exam are available for additional guidelines, conditions and guidelines and exam information. If you need special accommodations due to chronic disease, visual or hearing impairment or other limitations, contact the exam provider and provide the documentation when registering.
The Faculty Dashboard in Workday includes an option to "View My Teaching Schedule" that allows faculty to discover their exam schedules. Additionally, the Registrar's Office has a list of exam times for courses where an exam is required by NYSED regulations. For evening classes final exams are scheduled during the regular class time during the final week of exams.

Registration
Students are advised to check the exam schedule online. It is important to note that the schedule for exams can change at any time. For this reason, students should consult their instructors to ensure that they have the correct date and time for their exam. Students should also be sure to print the official list and bring it for their exams.
Students should also familiarize themselves with the guidelines and terms of the exam in addition to the exam schedule. These are accessible on the individual exam page. When they register, students agree that they have read and agree to these terms and conditions.

If a student is scheduled to take three examinations scheduled for the same day it is suggested to contact their instructor or department to arrange an exam to make up. It is possible to take three exams on the same day. However, this could lead to a high level of stress and affect the quality of the exam. The professor might not be able to give an additional test to make up for the missed day.
Before taking the test students must prepare by studying the syllabus and practice their German skills. The test is a written test that tests your ability to read and write, as well as speak German. The exam results are reported on a scale of A1 to C2. Students who pass the test are awarded a Goethe-Zertifikat. The certificate confirms that the student has attained the level of language A1. This level corresponds with the first level of the six-level scale of competency laid out in the Common European Framework of Reference for Foreign Languages. The examination is free of charge. Students should bring a valid government-issued ID to the test. Those without a valid photo identification will be disqualified.
Fees
You must pay an examination fee for the opportunity to receive the Goethe-Zertifikat (start German 1) after you have completed your Elan Academy studies. This fee is in addition to the cost of the course.
Practice tests allow you to get familiar with the format of the test, the language, and the difficulty of the questions on the test. They allow you to assess your proficiency, identify areas of knowledge that aren't covered and increase your chances of passing the test.
Please take note that the exam fee is non-refundable. Exam results can only by electronically sent, not via phone.
